Event coordinator

We run very few events as a club, but the few we do put on we make a real effort!  We need someone to help us continue to ensure our events are the best they can be and to foster the sense of community which is so important to us.  They aren't intended as fundraisers; we would raise a tiny fraction of what we bring in through member fees, so their only purpose is to celebrate our players and to give our community a chance to enjoy themselves away from the touchline.

Our flagship event is the end of season celebration, which is a festival of inflatables, largely managed by our friends at Live 9 Events.  They do most of the work; we just confirm dates and what activities we want them to bring, and then arrange a few caterers (last year's were brilliant so it may be as easy as just booking the same ones again!).  We need a few rooms within the school which the lettings folk arrange for us, and the rooms need laying out appropriately and lightly decorating; we also need a few volunteers to supervise some of the inflatables, which we'll need you to coordinate for us.  Arguably most importantly, we need a few people to run the bar - our chairman normally sorts that!  Lastly we need to count up the ticket sales and get wristbands out to the team managers to distribute amongst their teams.

Twice a year we hold a Quiz Night for the adults, which is fairly straightforward: our current club secretary runs the actual quiz, our chairman runs the bar, we just need a bit of help making sure we've enough booze and posh snacks to sell, booking the room (and making sure the audio works!) and pushing ticket sales.  The club secretary will continue to run the quiz after he steps down in the summer, but we might need some help with getting volunteers to help with the bar, to reduce the load on our chairman.

We have a vacancy for one more social event during the year, possibly in November.  We used to have a company come in to do a fashion show, but they've stopped doing them now, and that was only ever lightly attended.  We're open to ideas - anything that will attract a good number of our wider community to come and take part!

You'll need to be self-driven and very organised, and able to coordinate groups of volunteers.  Similar experience isn't necessarily that important but you'll need to show a confident face in getting people to do what you need them to, and you'll need to be able to think on your feet when the inevitable ball gets dropped.
