Child Welfare Officer / safeguarding leads

We take the welfare of our players very seriously, and we are looking to fill this crucial role on a permanent basis - and support them with a safeguarding lead for each of our coaching groups.

Child Welfare is a specific set of courses that we'll put you through, and you'll engage with the FA and our coaches and parents to ensure we are living best practice in terms of safeguarding.  This will include managing our DBS process, with all the safeguarding leads needing to be able to process clearance requests.

Experience of safeguarding would be helpful, particularly in a school or club environment, but more importantly you'll have a passion for protecting children and will need to be able to work with volunteers to make sure our standards are being upheld.  Self-drive is crucial for the CWO role in particular.  As with any role where you're upholding standards, you'll need to be good at building relationships with people so that you can hold them to account if we're slipping at all, especially given the voluntary nature of all of our roles - we don't want to put people off volunteering by being bossy with them - but we do need them to keep our children safe and our reputation intact.
